John P. Pigott, MD, FACS, is the founder, chairman and chief science officer of VentureMed Group. He is the past director of endovascular surgery at the Jobst Vascular Institute and current Chief Innovation Officer for ProMedica Health Systems in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Pigott previously completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Mayo Clinic. With more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and presentations to his credit, he has spent more than 20 years in the endovascular arena.

In addition, Dr. Pigott has acted as investigator for multiple clinical trials, including peripheral interventions, aortic endografts and chronic total occlusion (CTO) devices, as well as drug and gene therapies. He holds several patents and patents pending for medically related devices to treat peripheral artery disease and aortic pathologies.


Brent Cousino

Brent brings his 30 plus years of experience in healthcare spanning accounting and finance through strategy development and operations. He works closely with Jordan on VMG operations and Kerrie in the development and implementation of the company’s financial processes and planning.
He is also CEO of Browning Cousineau Corp., a private advisory firm focused in the healthcare industry. Brent served as CEO of IRISense, LLC, a biomedical device start-up at Rocket Innovations from 2012 to 2015. He is a member of the Mercy Health – Northern Ohio board of directors, a 7 hospital region of Mercy Health. Brent co-founded a CPA firm in 1984 focused in the healthcare industry and led a merger with Plante Moran in 1997. He went on to build a national feasibility consulting practice for Plante Moran. Brent lives in Toledo with his wife Pam. He is a wine aficionado.

Gary L. Smith

As chief executive officer of VentureMed Group, Gary Smith, brings 30 years of business leadership experience in the medical device, equipment and diagnostics industry to the company. He has successfully led three medical device start-ups from concept through market entry to sales growth. Prior to joining VentureMed, he served as chief executive officer of PrognostiX (Cleveland Heart Lab) and CleveX, both spinouts from Cleveland Clinic Innovations.


Kerrie Denman

Kerrie has worked in the public accounting and consulting profession for 20 years. Her career experience generated strong accounting skills as well as communication, presentation, people, and organizational skills. During her senior manager role at Plante & Moran, Kerrie led financial feasibility studies for healthcare companies throughout Ohio and Michigan as well as Illinois and Florida.  Kerrie is on the finance committee of Ronald McDonald House.  She loves to be involved in sports by either playing, coaching, or spectating!


Jordan keefe, b.Sc.
Project manager
Jordan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Toledo with a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering in 2013. Right out of college he spent two years as the Project Manager for IRISense, a medical device startup company working to commercialize a noninvasive glucose monitoring technology. He also worked as a Product Development Specialist for Principle Business Enterprises working to develop products utilizing super-absorbent polymers. He then spent a year working with a web development and IT firm before beginning to pursue his Master's in Computer Science Engineering. Jordan also runs a 501(c)3 organization with his wife, Frances, called Save The Feet where they distribute shoes internationally using a model that is sustainable and beneficial to society. He joined VentureMed in June of 2016 as Project Manager.


Dave Cox

VP of Sales and Marketing
Dave has over 25 years of experience in medical device and biotech pharmaceutical sales and sales management including the last 17 years in the endovascular device space. Most recently Dave was VP of Sales, Sales Operations and Sales Training for Medtronic's (ev3-->COV) peripheral teams leading both the endo-arterial and endo-venous businesses. Prior to VP of Sales he has held roles of expanding responsibility to include Regional Sales Manager, Area Director of Sales, and Senior Director of Corporate Accounts. Over his career Dave has led expansions of sales teams, integrations post company mergers, and launched new innovative technologies as well as key product portfolio extensions. At VMG, Dave will be responsible for expanding and driving the accountability of the sales team, designing and driving marketing campaigns, KOL development, and most importantly ensuring we hit our revenue goals.


Jeff Tully

Jeff has over 15 years of experience, holding various sales and leadership rolls in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Prior to joining VentureMed, Jeff was part of the initial commercial sales force for Volcano Corp. (acquired by Philips Healthcare) that was responsible for the launch of the newly approved Phoenix Atherectomy catheter. Jeff has held sales leadership positions with Integra Neurosciences, Foxhollow Technologies, Inc., IDEV Technologies, Inc. and Avinger.


Abby Vinciczky

Abby Vinciczky
Abby tackles sales and marketing support activities as well as many operational and organizational tasks. Abby wears any “hat” we ask of her and you should know-the driver behind this newsletter. Abby is a recent graduate from the University of Toledo with a bachelor's of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship, with a  minor in E-commerce.  Previously, she managed student employees at the University of Toledo Recreation Center as an Undergrad Assistant, then spent two years as an intern to the Director of LaunchPad Incubation.  Abby has experience in organizing large events and networking activities for crowds of 300+. She enjoys spending time camping, biking, playing volleyball, and running with her 9 month old yellow lab puppy, Magnolia.
